Amy is a DONA-certified birth doula and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, hypnodoula, and certified breastfeeding counselor. She has been a doula for almost a decade and has worked with over 700 families. She loves working with families as they welcome new baby and adjust to the postpartum period.
She expertly supports both natural and medicated births in and outside of the hospital and believes that all families can benefit from doula support. She has training in Rebozo, Acupressure, and bereavement, and has firsthand experience as a parent with a baby in the NICU as well as pregnancy loss. Amy serves as a calming presence during labor and supports laboring persons and their partners with comfort measures and reassurance.
As a postpartum doula, Amy offers direct support in breast/chestfeeding, infant sleep, organization, meal preparations, and emotional support. Additionally, Amy has experience with PPA/PPD. Amy offers both daytime and overnight support and guides partners in the best way to support the needs of the growing family.
Amy understands conversational Spanish.
Amy lives with her husband, two daughters, and dog in SE DC and serves families located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
