Ursula is one of the most experienced doulas in the United States. Since 1999, she has personally supported more than 5,000 families and attended over 1,600 births. Her work is centered on educating, encouraging, and supporting families throughout pregnancy, birth, and recovery so they can experience confident and empowering outcomes.

Ursula leads the Birth You Desire teams in both the Washington, DC metro area and the Phoenix metro area. She also works as a traveling doula and provides virtual birth support, allowing families across the country to benefit from her expertise.

As a Full Spectrum Doula, Ursula supports families through many types of birth experiences, including vaginal births, scheduled cesareans, miscarriages, TFMR, and stillbirths. She combines evidence-based knowledge, an understanding of birth physiology, and holistic approaches to help families navigate labor and birth with confidence while minimizing unnecessary interventions whenever possible.

Ursula works closely with both the birthing person and their partner to ensure the laboring parent is surrounded by trusted support. She is known for her ability to adapt in real time, communicate effectively with care teams, and help families make informed decisions that align with their goals.

Her journey into birth work began with the birth of her own children. The support she received during that time inspired her lifelong commitment to supporting other families during one of life’s most meaningful transitions.

Today, as the CEO of Birth You Desire, Ursula mentors and supports the entire doula team, ensuring every client benefits from the depth of experience she brings to the field.

Ursula is a wife of 31 years, a mother, and a proud grandmother.
