What is a Fertility Massage?

Fertility massage, also known as abdominal or pelvic massage, is a therapeutic technique that aims to support reproductive health and increase the chances of conception. It involves gentle, deep massage techniques on the abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area to improve circulation and balance the reproductive organs.

Fertility massage focuses on addressing any physical, emotional, or energetic imbalances that may be affecting fertility. It can be beneficial for both men and women and may help with various fertility issues, including hormonal imbalances, menstrual irregularities, blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

The massage techniques used during fertility massage help to break up adhesions, improve blood flow to the reproductive organs, and promote relaxation. Additionally, the massage can help release emotional stress and tension that may be impacting fertility.

It’s important to note that fertility massage should not be seen as a standalone treatment or a guarantee for conception. It works best when combined with other fertility treatments or approaches, such as acupuncture, diet and lifestyle changes, and medical interventions as recommended by a healthcare professional.

If you’re considering fertility massage, it’s advisable to consult with us and we can tailor the treatment to your specific needs and medical history. We can provide a personalized approach and ensure the massage is performed safely and effectively.

What is a Pregnancy Massage?

Pregnancy Massage is a form of bodywork designed specifically for pregnancy AFTER 12 weeks of gestation.

During this time the body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical, mental, and emotional changes. Using various techniques specifically for pregnancy, our therapists help alleviate discomforts experienced throughout the pregnancy. The benefits are profound for both the parent and the baby.

Prenatal massage involves techniques that focus on addressing the unique needs and discomforts of expecting mothers. Some benefits of prenatal massage include:
Stress relief: Prenatal massage can help alleviate stress and promote relaxation. It may also help reduce anxiety and depression during pregnancy.
Pain relief: Many pregnant women experience various types of discomfort, such as back pain, hip pain, and swelling. Prenatal massage can help alleviate these pains and improve overall comfort.
Reduced muscle tension: As the body goes through physical changes during pregnancy, muscles may become tense or tight.

Prenatal massage can help reduce muscle tension, especially in the back, neck, hips, and legs.
Improved circulation: The increased blood volume during pregnancy may lead to swelling and discomfort. Prenatal massage promotes better blood circulation, which can help reduce swelling and improve overall well-being.
Hormone regulation: Prenatal massage can aid in regulating hormone levels, including reducing stress hormones while increasing the production of feel-good hormones like serotonin and dopamine.

What is a Labor Masssage?

Labor Massage is for full-term parents who are between 39 and 42 weeks pregnant. This therapy includes a combination of relaxation massage, release of areas where deeper stress and discomfort are stored, and stimulation of labor-inducing, tender-to-touch acupressure and reflexology points that are normally avoided during pregnancy massage.

Labor massage, also known as therapeutic touch during labor, can be highly beneficial for women during the labor process. Here are some ways labor massage can be beneficial:
Pain relief: Massage during labor can help alleviate pain and discomfort by releasing endorphins, which are natural painkillers produced by the body. It can also help reduce muscle tension and ease contractions.
Stress and anxiety reduction: Massage promotes relaxation and lowers stress and anxiety levels during labor. It can help you to feel more calm and grounded, enhancing your ability to manage the intensity of labor.
Increased comfort: Gentle massage techniques, such as effleurage and gentle pressure, can provide physical comfort by easing muscle tension and promoting relaxation. This, in turn, can enhance overall comfort during labor.
Stimulates circulation: Massage can help improve blood and lymphatic circulation, which aids in maintaining optimal oxygenation and nutrition to the muscles and organs. This increased circulation can support the body during the demanding process of labor.

A 90-minute induction massage is recommended, as it has proven to be much more effective than a shorter massage. Studies show that stimulating the induction points helps raise oxytocin levels which peak around 7-8 hours after the massage. Typically, if the baby is ready, labor would then begin within 24-48 hours. If your body and baby are not ready, this massage will help the body to align for labor, but labor will not begin until the baby is truly ready.

What is a Postpartum Massage?
Postpartum massage offers several benefits for you during the recovery period after childbirth.
Some of these benefits include:
Relaxation and stress relief: Postpartum massage helps relax the body and release tension, which can be particularly helpful during the challenging and exhausting early postpartum period.
Pain relief and muscle tension release: Giving birth can take a toll on the body, causing muscle soreness and discomfort. Postpartum massage can help alleviate these aches and pains, reducing muscle tension and promoting overall healing.
Hormone regulation: Massage therapy can positively affect hormone levels, including those associated with stress and relaxation. This can help balance hormones during the postpartum period, which is marked by significant hormonal changes.
Promoting physical and emotional well-being:
Postpartum massage contributes to overall well-being by improving blood circulation, boosting the immune system, and promoting emotional well-being. It can also help reduce the risk of postpartum depression or anxiety by promoting relaxation
