About Ursula Sabia Sukinik

Ursula Sabia Sukinik is one of the most experienced doulas in the United States. Since 1999, she has supported more than 5,000 families and attended over 1,600 births. Her passion lies in educating, encouraging, and guiding families so that pregnancy, birth, and postpartum become empowering, life-affirming experiences.

As the founder of Birth You Desire®, Ursula leads our teams in Washington, D.C., and Phoenix while also supporting families across the nation through in-person and virtual care. Her expertise spans full-spectrum doula work, from childbirth education to labor support to postpartum recovery, ensuring families are never alone, no matter where they are in their journey.

Beyond her direct client work, Ursula is a mentor, trainer, and thought leader in the birth community. She has contributed to scientific journals, been featured in national media outlets, and spoken on podcasts about maternal health, family wellness, and the power of compassionate support.

Ursula’s commitment is deeply personal: her own birth experiences inspired her to dedicate her life to helping families feel prepared, safe, and empowered. Today, as a wife, mother, grandmother, and CEO, she continues to lead Birth You Desire with both professional excellence and heartfelt care.
